The theme for our 2nd Holiday Gift Guide post is 'silk and lace.' Of course most of what we carry represents that combination, but these pieces represent our newest and most amazing of the bunch. Many of these items are by French lingerie designer Vannina Vesperini. Vannina is a brand that is practically exclusive to Faire Frou Frou in the USA, and often a new name to customers that have never shopped our store. We also included a Mimi Holliday favorite and the Fleur of England kimono that we just adore! Each of these pieces represent a timeless elegance and sophistication when a designer combines the finest silk with the most delicate lace.

It is with great pleasure that we are finally adding some new Fall products to our website! Recently we had a photo shoot with Haley, who not only makes a great lingerie model but is a wonderfully energetic employee at Faire Frou Frou! We were able to shoot new arrivals from Fifi Chachnil, Vannina Vesperini, Only Hearts and some fabulous boudoir pieces made just for us (more of those items will be coming as well)!
We will be adding new items to our online store throughout the week, so keep checking in. In the meantime, the items shown above were just added to our online boutique, so start shopping!!

Just a quick update: our Studio City boutique is still closed for renovations. We hope to re-open by late November 2009.

There's a bit of a chill in the air this morning, which means Fall is just around the corner and more importantly, Fall fashions are ready to be worn! This would be the perfect day to slip into a gorgeous silk kimono and relax...with some lovely undies underneath. These images by Javier Vallhonrat, one of our favorite photographers, are dark, moody (in a good way) and sensual.
A few of our brands, such as Kenzo and Vannina Vesperini, have created geisha-inspired collections that would be perfect to layer with a gorgeous satin kimono.

With bridal season upon us, we thought it fitting to do a post on 'bridal lingerie'. Of course, beautiful white lingerie is not just limited to brides! Most of our non-bridal customers are those who are buying pieces like what you see in this post! And we completely understand that - who could resist such pretty pieces?
Now that we think about it, we will likely do another post next week featuring bridal blue lingerie...as well as affordable suggestions for bridal shower/bachelorette party gifts.

If you have shopped at our boutique, you will know that we are big fans of Vannina Vesperini. She is a French lingerie designer who has created a niche with her 'visible lingerie' collections; which means she creates pieces that are meant to be layered or shown as part of your outerwear. Often times Vannina will create a bra and panty, and also design a matching camisole, sweater, skirt and/or wrap so that the look can be worn out. The bras in her collection are so luscious and beautifully-detailed, it's no wonder she makes it possible for you to show them off!
We will be posting some of the items you see here to our online boutique (we just need to get them properly photographed!)...they are currently available and selling in our Studio City store.

We are excited to announce that most of our Vannina Vesperini collections are available for purchase online at fairefroufrou.com!! This is great news for those of you who adore the brand, since it's particularly hard to find online. This very specialized brand is one of the top designers we carry (amongst Carine Gilson, ID Sarrieri, Damaris...), and the new Spring 2008 collection has been selling quite well in the short time we've had it.
The new collections being featured are the Intemporels group (also known as the 'classics' group), Harmonie, Illusion, and Fleur de Geisha.
All of the bras are not only beautifully designed, but they're practical in that they can be worn under form-fitting clothing. The designs truly are classic.
Each bra has a coordinating tanga (thong) and/or silk short.
We are loving the Intemporels Silk Tunic - these make great outerwear pieces. Just layer over a pair of tights, and throw on a pair of boots or flats, and you're good to go for a night out!
Speaking of layering, check out the Harmonie Halter Bra - this is a great piece to wear underneath a suit jacket, and show off that amazing lace detail!
All of the color-schemes work wonderfully, and we're particularly fond of the new Ultraviolet color (available in the Intemporels Bra & Tanga).

We are happy to announce the launch of Vannina Vesperini's new and improved website!
A few weeks back we mentioned having seen the new Fall 2007 collection, and now you can preview it online!
Attached are 2 images from her new campaign, with amazing photographs featuring French actress Roxane Mesquida and photographed by famed photographer Sonia Sieff.
One of our favorite pieces from the group (which we ordered for ourselves!) is shown in the 'Press' section under the WWD article. It's the gorgeous silk chiffon leopard night dress that will make your jaw drop - you need to see it in person; the way it flows and drapes when you move. Another favorite is shown in the very amateur photo below...the peach satin silk gown. It's also stunning, and comes with a removable pearl brooch. We have more personal photos of the collection, and will post more in the up-coming months (we don't want to spoil all of the surprises!).
We would like to proudly mention that Faire Frou Frou is one of the first U.S. boutiques to carry the line (we started ordering from Vannina before we opened in 2003).

Vannina Vesperini - she's back!

We couldn't have been happier when we received the news that Vannina Vesperini was back in business...and she's just as wonderful as ever! We met with Vannina and her assistant Sabrina in a gorgeous apartment/studio in Paris not too far from the Champs-Elysees, which made our travels well worth it! We had a stunning model (who kind of looked like the designer) present the collection to us, while all of us sat back on plush suede sofas and sipped warm tea served in antique cups and nibbled on pound cake...
Though we have promised to keep the details of her new collection confidential, we can share that the new pieces are high-fashion luxury, with a variety of robes and gowns that are to die for! The collection will arrive at our boutique in July, and we can't wait.
Vannina has chosen to keep her distribution to a select few boutiques around the world, so we are proud to be in the mix.
We did notice that some of the pieces are inspired by some of Vannina's more 'classic' styles from her previous designs, but with new colors and patterns. Typically we tend to shy away from purchasing items with prints/patterns, but her choices were subtle and sweet, and are sure to wow our customers. What's new to her designs are her removable logo pearl-encrusted brooches that make great accessories for some of her gowns.
