Cadolle was one of the first brands we carried when we opened Faire Frou Frou since it was the perfect representation of the luxury and sophistication we wanted to create in our boutique.  Nearly seven years later and we are still love Cadolle just as much as we once did.  We recently became more enamored with this French family-owned company when we noticed that they gave their website a much-needed facelift.  The images from this post are just a few of the lovely images we discovered.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with Cadolle, we typically tell newbie customers that they are the Rolls Royce of corsetry.  In fact, they own the famous atelier in Paris where you can have a bra custom-made for yourself for around $800...hopefully that price-tag gives you an indication of their expertise.  Luckily the pieces we sell in our boutique are a little bit more wallet-friendly (just a little bit).

While visiting Pink Lemonade this morning, we found these adorable images of Kylie Minogue! They just seemed so 'frou-frou', and given that LA Shopping Reviews just compared our boutique to Sofia Coppolla's version of Marie Antoinette (which these pictures reminded us of), the images are a perfect fit for our blog.

To make this post officially lingerie-related, we included a picture of Kylie Minogue wearing a Cadolle corset (though you can't really see what she's wearing!).

Wearing a corset is perhaps the easiest way to add va-va-voom to a lingerie ensemble. It's also the easiest way to hide a less-than-perfect figure! For those of you who want the creme de la creme of the corset world, you go to Cadolle. Cadolle is a world-famous corset maker based in Paris. This family-owned company has been creating corsets/bustiers/lingerie in their workshops since 1889!
Basically Cadolle is to corsets what Louis Vuitton is to luggage. That is why we are so excited to represent the brand at our boutique! We just received our favorite shapes; the Under-Bust Corset and the Waist-Cincher. Personally, the Under-Bust corset is just the sexiest piece we've seen (it's pictured below with a Simone Perele 'Avant Premiere' bra and boyshort)!

We found this image online, and it is one of those corset/bustier looks that we would wear/recommend as outerwear. We hate to say it, but we are not fans of the 'wearing a bustier with jeans' look...it's a bit dated. Nonetheless, we do like when an amazing bustier is styled with some chic accessories to make a killer outfit. In fact, one of our next posts will feature a few pieces from the queen of corsetry, Cadolle. We just received a few pieces from Cadolle and can't wait to share them with you! A bustier or corset might not always work as outerwear, but it always works in the bedroom!

We were so excited (as though we found lingerie heaven) when we found these lovely images by Blaise Lavigne for ZOOZOOM's online magazine. Each photo has lingerie from one of our favorite designers; all tastefully appointed with rich colors.
The photos & lingerie are supposed to embody the cabaret life during the Jazz Age. Here's an excerpt from the magazine that relates to many of the high-fashion pieces we have at Faire Frou Frou:

Too ostentatious for its intentions to be limited to wearing where it cannot be seen, too revealing to be functional as protection against even temperate weather, and too beautiful to place within the parameters of functionality, lingerie that embodies the subversive cabaret lifestyle survives today. And where does it live? It coyly sneaks out from beneath outerwear and dances of the stage of the imagination ( a place where style exists without the threat of extinction).
