We love how in the land of fashion magazines models casually hang out in pretty lingerie and high heels. It's kind of a fashion fantasy world which we love for the pretty details (and probably the guys love for the obvious reasons). Flair Magazine featured this editorial about 2 years ago, but you wouldn't know that since lingerie can be so timeless! You can buy it today and proudly wear it 5 years from now; that's the beauty of intimate apparel.
By the way, whatever that sparkly slip dress is at the top of the post, we want it!!

Lingerie Playtime! Ellen von Unwerth-Style...
images via here
Lingerie is so playful and fun, at least that's our opinion of what it can and should be. That's probably why we enjoy Ellen von Unwerth's photography so much; she captures the frivolity and sensuality that frolicking about in your undies can create! Feather fans, riding crops, eye masks and top hats...all in good fun.
We're kind of inspired to host a lingerie party like the one shown above! We wonder if any of you have done the same...

When "In the Red" is a Good Thing
We thought it would be fun to do a small post featuring some of our favorite RED images posted on our Tumblr blog (Little Frou Frou Fashionista). Though we love both of our blogs, we certainly enjoy the flexibility of our Tumblr site to post anything that inspires us; not just lingerie. It provides us an outlet for our love of shoes, bright lipstick and clothing!

Frilly, Flouncy Bridal Whites
images via here. Ms Couture Spring 2010 runway
Since bridal lingerie season is in full-swing over here at Faire Frou Frou, we thought we would share some wedding-dress inspired lingerie with you! These images are from Australian lingerie designer Julie Chione-Tullio's debut runway collection of her label Ms. Couture. Though this is the SS10 collection, it's just as relevant right now in 2011 (that's the beauty of bridal lingerie). We put together a selection of details from our favorite looks; pretty buttons, tulle skirts, fur trim...
We are not quite certain if there is a Ms. Couture website, so with that being said, there is an Australian flagship store located at The Strand, Shop 103, 412.414 George St Sydney (02) 9222 9484.
In contrast to Ms. Couture's white "Angel" pieces, here's our favorite item from her "Vixen" group...of course it has ostrich feathers on it, which is pretty much why we love it. This piece retails for about $5,000. If you're looking for an ostrich feather robe for between $375-$1100, we highly suggest you shop here.

A Summer Uniform: Bathing Suits
photos by Urko Suaya, images via here
This would be a wonderful way to lounge about all Summer; in a lovely bathing suit paired with fabulous high heels. The gals look sexy in it, the guys would appreciate it. It's a win-win.
These gorgeous photos are by the talented Urko Suaya, an international photographer who has been shooting such stunning images for 25 years.
These images really spoke to us. That first one reminds us of a Kate Spade ad (even the last one, because it's a bit quirky), which is a high compliment coming from us! The picture of the model on the scale next to the pool is a position we would never put ourselves in (right?). Let us know which one is your favorite!

Bridal Lingerie; No Gown Required
Vogue Brazil Brides, photographer Renam Christofoletti, model Bruna Erhardt, images via here
Who needs to fuss over getting a wedding gown when it can so easily be upstaged by gorgeous wedding lingerie? This is kind of our fantasy wedding scenario, given our love of luxury lingerie... The lace, ruffles and flowers almost make you forget that the model is wearing everything but a skirt. Almost.
We love that Vogue Brazil put together a special bridal supplement featuring the lovely Bruna Erhardt modeling the very picture of femininity. It's all of these pretty details that remind us of why we love the lingerie world so much and why our boutique specializes in 'pretty' over the boring/functional.
We see something in each picture that we'd like, but probably love the details of the top picture the most (the lace, the buttons!).
What's your favorite look?

Vogue Italia - Celebrating Those Curves!
images via here
The internet is abuzz with excitement over the June 2011 issue of Vogue Italia, and luckily we get to share it with you thanks to the bits and pieces of lingerie we spy! With a little help from Agent Provocateur, Dolce & Gabbana and Alberta Ferretti, three curvy models get the covergirl treatment in a luscious, sensual spread shot by Steven Meisel. This is all part of Vogue Italia's efforts to promote body diversity, and hopefully part of an on-going goal to show that beauty is not just limited to the small worldwide population of lanky supermodels. To us, beauty is really about attitude, no matter what your size...proof of that is in these photos!

Atsuko Kudo - Luxury Latex Lingerie
images via Atsuko Kudo
We are pretty much convinced that Atsuko Kudo has revolutionized the concept of luxury latex lingerie. For the first time, a label has turned our attention toward this type of product and has pretty much brought our idea of latex from out of the gutter and onto the runway. We're sure many of your agree. Granted, Atsuko Kudo definitely has a fetish appeal, but the designs are high-fashion and sophisticated. Such sophistication doesn't come cheap, as prices range from about $300 for a bra to about $2,000 for an applique flower bodysuit!
The item we're coveting is the pair of clear stockings (with the triple black band along the top)...they're $200 but we're guessing they don't run so it might be a good investment!
It's always interesting when a designer can take a concept and make it (relatively) mainstream. Suddenly you don't need to be a fetish model to want latex undies.
Has Atsuko Kudo changed your opinion of latex rubber lingerie?
