New Spring collection - Chantal Thomass

The Spring 2007 collection by Chantal Thomass has finally arrived in stores!
We just received the 'Petillante' group (shown with the red and black sets), which is classically frou-frou with its ruffled tulle trim!
We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the 'Tulle Fronce' group - which is the white set with the black polka dots. It is our favorite of the collection and so adorable - everything from the gathered silk bra to the high-waisted gathered briefs that flatter and cinch the waistline.
We actually have several C.T. collections due to arrive at the store (not shown here), and the arrival of those groups will be spread out through the Spring. We are so excited to debut the collection at Faire Frou Frou, and will be posting items to our online shop as they come in.
As a side note, we were able to visit the famous Chantal Thomass boutique during our travels to Paris. Unfortunately it was 'Sale' (Solde) season, and I don't think we saw the store in its full glory. The boutique is nonetheless a personal landmark in Paris, and has all of the frilly details that make the lingerie industry so much fun!

Kiss Me Quick!

The Spring/Summer collection from U.K. designer Fleur T is so adorable! The "Kiss Me Quick" range, shown here, has a fresh nautical influence with its cream and navy color-scheme. As is customary with the Fleur T line, this group has just the right amount of detailing with its ruffles, bow-ties, and dotted mesh. Though it's a bit hard to tell from the quality of the photos, each piece has a very crisp and clean look...we especially love the navy/cream striped ribbon trim on the bras! This group has the ideal look for a Spring/Summer group - we love it!
We will follow up this post with the other range from designer Fleur Turner's collection, called Knickerbocker Glory (which is simply sensational!).

Dessous by Sophie Simmons

The Spring 2007 collection for Dessous by Sophie Simmons has arrived!

NYC-based designer Sophie Simmons created her collection based on inspiration from the workmanship and intricate details on "dessous" or "under pieces" she had inherited from her mother.
You will notice that in the Dessous collection, there's a vintage charm that can particularly be noted in the lace embroidery and applique on many of the pieces.

Sophie's designs are very much 'casual chic' with looks that border between loungewear and outerwear. For instance, many of her babydoll tops and tunics are adorable for sleep or loungewear, but also make great pieces for wearing out (especially when layered over leggings).

The Dessous collection consists of bras, camisoles, chemises, panties, shorts and tees...all of which are made from fine Italian cottons. At Faire Frou Frou, we have focused mainly on the chemises, jackets and jumpers so that our customers get the dual use of loungewear as outerwear. We have noticed that the pieces from this collection are great for layering, especially when attempting to show off a beautiful bra!

The collection is currently sold at Faire Frou Frou!

It's a Hit! The Mimi Holliday Spring collection...

We knew it was cute, adorable, etc. but we were shocked when the new Mimi Holliday collection pretty much sold out within just days of arrival in our boutique. What's even more interesting is that the new Leopard print collection (shown) hasn't even gone out on our shelves, and has sold while being spied sitting behind our store counter!
In any event, we realize it's hard to resist the adorable bow-tie panties, and the sweet lace-trimmed bras. In fact, Mimi Holliday has mass appeal in part due to its bra size range - from 30AA to 38E. Other than designers Fleur T and Myla, it's been a challenge for us to find a brand that has a great bra size range, but that's also stunning to look at (and not too 'old lady' as we call it).
The good news is that we have a re-order on its way in to us, so that the rest of our customers can share in the excitement of this fun new group.
For those of you who don't know, Mimi Holliday is a difusion collection designed by famed designer "Damaris" - who is known for having invented the back-bow knicker. And let's face it, most women go crazy for a cute little bow the way Damaris does it! Check out one of her signature styles in the picture shown (from her Fall 2006 collection).
We were fortunate to meet with the lovely Damaris while in Paris and we are pleased to announce that we are picking up most styles from both the "Mimi Holliday" and "Damaris" groups! I can't share the pictures of the new styles just yet (and it kills me), but they are sensational!!! We can't wait to share them with you! Keep posted...

Vannina Vesperini - she's back!

We couldn't have been happier when we received the news that Vannina Vesperini was back in business...and she's just as wonderful as ever! We met with Vannina and her assistant Sabrina in a gorgeous apartment/studio in Paris not too far from the Champs-Elysees, which made our travels well worth it! We had a stunning model (who kind of looked like the designer) present the collection to us, while all of us sat back on plush suede sofas and sipped warm tea served in antique cups and nibbled on pound cake...
Though we have promised to keep the details of her new collection confidential, we can share that the new pieces are high-fashion luxury, with a variety of robes and gowns that are to die for! The collection will arrive at our boutique in July, and we can't wait.
Vannina has chosen to keep her distribution to a select few boutiques around the world, so we are proud to be in the mix.
We did notice that some of the pieces are inspired by some of Vannina's more 'classic' styles from her previous designs, but with new colors and patterns. Typically we tend to shy away from purchasing items with prints/patterns, but her choices were subtle and sweet, and are sure to wow our customers. What's new to her designs are her removable logo pearl-encrusted brooches that make great accessories for some of her gowns.
Welcome back Vannina!
