Old-Hollywood Glamour - French ELLE

It is always a pleasant surprise to see lingerie featured on the cover of a major fashion publication - and in this case it's French ELLE!

For February, the cover story features Laetitia Casta wearing an assortment of sexy lingerie pieces. We think that most of the lingerie is vintage, since we don't see any designer credits in the story (or at least we don't see any...if you know who did what, please let us know so we can give proper credit!).
What we particularly love about this shoot, and the reason why we're posting it, is to show how lingerie can be classic, sophisticated, stylish and glamorous. The theme of the shoot is a celebration glamour icons of the silver screen, and photographer Vincent Peters perfectly captured the look! All of these styles are something that can be worn underneath clothing, which shows how sexy intimate apparel can also be practical.

Some of our favorite old-Hollywood glamour pieces in our boutique are the Alice & Astrid Long Satin Silk Gown, and the Beau Bra Long Gown. Both pieces look so cute with the ivory Fifi Chachnil angora cardigan worn with it. Actually, pretty much anything by Fifi Chachnil has an old-Hollywood glamour style!

Beau Bra - Winter 2008

Beau Bra is a lovely brand from the U.K. that has been represented at Faire Frou Frou since we opened in 2005. We have posted about Beau Bra and its designer (the beautiful Gabrielle Ross) before, and with the new collection here at the boutique, it's our pleasure to post about it again!

We love the Beau Bra philosophy on their brand: "Beau Bra is about discreet sexuality combined with ultra luxury and a hint of British formality. Underwear is designed to keep a man faithful." Now isn't that the truth!!

The images shown here are the new pieces we just received for Winter 2008. We are adding the new items to the boutique in a moment, and here's a peek at what we will be posting...

A Change of Pace for Spring/Summer

U.K. brand Beau Bra has taken a fresh approach to the Spring/Summer collection with a dramatic new colorway. Typically we see plenty of pastels in our Spring shipments, and were pleased to see something that stood out from the rest (not that we don't LOVE pastels!!!). The group shown here is a lovely cranberry red with ice blue lace detailing. The color contrast works incredibly well!
What we love from this group is that many of the pieces double as outerwear...you get more bang for your buck (excuse the expression)! Our favorite is the beautiful lace-back dress (shown) that can be worn either forwards or backwards. We also enjoy the silky front-tie jacket that makes a great lightweight cover-up.
Beau Bra also created some lovely pieces in aqua...they are bright, fresh and delicious!! Check out the collection at Faire Frou Frou!
