With the success of our
Boudoir Makeover post (click
here for a refresher), we wanted to follow-up with a post on creating your own glamorous space. After all, you need a beautiful space for you and those gorgeous underpinnings you've been collecting!
This post is more about 'boudoir inspiration' than a 'how-to', since there are so many decorator blogs that explain that much better. When looking for inspiration for our boudoir makeover, we looked at a number of sites, particularly
The Paris Apartment and
Paris Hotel Boutique. We also discovered a few other lovely shops and blogs that will certainly help you create the boudoir look such as
French Blue,
Chinoiserie Chic,
The French Bedroom Company and
Paris Atelier.
It seems like the basis for creating the glamorous boudoir look is including some (if not all) of these elements: silk upholstered furniture, silk tufted headboard, mirror dresser or vanity, lucite details, crystal accents, antique perfume bottles, a satin upholstered chaise lounge, and those white fluffy sheepskin rugs (or even a flokati rug perhaps). For a more professional take on the look, visit the sites we listed above.
As for what you wear in your boudoir, everything you need can be found
here.
