Ahh, our favorite time of year is when we receive new stock for a new season! We just received the Fall/Winter collection for Mimi Holliday, and of course had to share our excitement with you. Basically if you enjoyed previous collections from this brand, you will enjoy this - namely because the shapes for the bras/panties remains consistent, but the colors, trim and accents change.
This season is filled with glamour; from the black satin Beluga collection (hello decadence!) to the Shooting Star group that has a high-fashion raw-edge silk trim detailed with tiny black sequins. We especially love the Cherry Bomb group, probably because it's so hard to find a good red lingerie collection that we like - of course Mimi Holliday made this group in satin silk in the perfect shade of red! And last, but not least, is the Flurry group which is made from a white flock stripe silk chiffon. We're taking one of these for ourself!
Rather than talk about this collection any further, let the beautiful pictures speak for themselves!
We expect to receive the new Damaris collection in about a week, so stay tuned for that (talk about luxury & decadence!).

Simone Perele is one of those French lingerie brands that has a history of expertise in creating beautiful well-fitting bras in a great variety of sizes. Established in 1948, Simone Perele started out as a corset-maker in Paris. The company has since grown leaps & bounds over the past 60 years to become one of the most well-recognized French lingerie labels. The concept of the Simone Perele label is best expressed by its founder: "Women do not need to choose between elegance and comfort".
We understand that not everyone in the U.S. is familiar with this brand, but it's certainly worth checking out!
We have re-introduced the line into our boutique with the beautiful Avant Premiere collection (gorgeous black lace), and a great basics line called Velia. The price range for Simone Perele pieces vary between approximately $70-$90 for their bras, which is comparable to the very popular Huit prices (Huit is another French brand that sells amazingly well at our boutique).
We suggest that you visit the Simone Perele website for their bra fitting advice section - they suggest the best bra based on your shape & size. It's a great tool!

Remember how we did a post a few months ago about the trend of 'peek-a-boo panties'? We showed a few images from the Fall 2008 Christian Dior runway, with sheer gowns revealing ladylike knickers... We then did a follow-up post showing the look on the red carpet.
This post shows just how many designers used that very trend for their runway looks for Fall 2008. Who knew so many people would pick up on this look!
Personally, we think Christian Dior nailed it, but the designers featured in this post did an amazing job interpreting peek-a-boo panties in a contemporary way.
However, the idea of this concept working into everyday life is still a long way off.

Fleur T - New Fall Collection

We are so pleased to present the new Fall collection for Fleur T! This consistently fabulous lingerie brand has introduced the 'Je Ne Sais Quoi' group for the new season. Basically, this collection works for everyone - the bras are smooth enough for frequent use, the black/cafe colorway is a best-seller, there are padded & non-padded bras, there's an assortment of panty options, and there are beautiful coordinating loungewear pieces to boot!
We have our eye on that beautiful silk kimono...it will make a great ready-to-wear piece layered with chunky jewelry and skinny jeans!
This collection is now available for purchase...the next Fleur T collection for Fall comes out in November.

Retro Swimwear from Abaete

We've been doing our ordering for Spring 2009, and as far as swimwear is concerned, we are ordering a lot of retro styles! Almost every brand has the cutest high-waisted bikini briefs, or 1940s-inspired 1-pieces. But all of these new items come to our boutique in February...and we need to be hush-hush for now.
