While reading Dans Mon Boudoir this weekend, we discovered a darling little clothing line called Savant which just so happens to have a choice selection of intimate apparel.  The bandage strap pieces are just crying to be layered with your outerwear because they absolutely need to be seen!  The embroidered silk pieces in the beautiful peacock colors are incredibly lovely, and admittedly something we are very close to purchasing for ourselves.  Or perhaps we will pair the open bandage bra with the sheer skirt...so many options for mixing and matching. 

According to the boutique I Don't Like Mondays, each item (whether lingerie or ready-to-wear) is made-to-order.  Looks like it's time to put together a wish list!

For so many burlesque performers one of the essential components some of the most fascinating routines includes the use of ostrich feathers.  What is it about the ostrich feather that is so enticing?  Perhaps it is its historical association with power, heraldry and aristocracy.  It certainly represents decadence and creates an immediate sense of glamour.  Perhaps this is what Sally Rand had in mind when she performed her famous burlesque numbers in the 1930s; therefore making ostrich feathers a must for so many performers who would follow in her footsteps. 

What do you make of ostrich feather accessories and costumes; is it the ultimate in glamour or just too much?

A Taste of Lace (& Feathers)

We are not sure where our love affair begins; lingerie or lace.  The lace in this editorial for Numero Magazine is absolutely lovely, and once again we see the all-lace eye-mask being used, which is so striking and seductive.  Granted, there's not much lingerie in this post with the exception of two pieces by Chantelle and Eres, but we didn't think you would mind!  We are quite taken with the photography skills of Ben Hassett and the beauty of Cameron Russell.  The ostrich feathers in the first picture are quite dramatic, and so beautiful...we don't even know if it's a top or an accessory, we just love it.  Perhaps we have ostrich feathers on our mind with the up-coming addition of an entire Burlesque Shop on our online store!  Details will indeed follow about that!

Tyler Kandel; Lingerie & Light

We recently featured the work of Los Angeles photographer Tyler Kandel on our blog (see here) and were so pleased to receive a few more images to share with you.  Kandel certainly knows how to make a statement with sunlight (seriously, how does he do that?) and for purposes of our blog he certainly knows the right lingerie for his models.  The items featured here are from the latest Maison Close collection called 'Cabaret Royal' (with the exception of the 'Bel Ami' bra from the Summer season in the balloon pic).  So many of you have been purchasing Maison Close off our website that we feel most of our readers already own these pieces!  In any event, the lingerie adds a sensual element to what would already be considered lush, dramatic photos.
