Frou Frou Fashionista is a luxury lingerie blog which focuses on the finest intimate apparel from around the world. The blog highlights news from Faire Frou Frou, and represents lingerie as seen in high-fashion and tastefully elegant photography.

We're not sure if these pieces by House of Holland are lingerie-inspired or just lingerie. But we suppose if you pair anything with a great pair of shoes and perhaps a clutch it becomes ready-to-wear! The vibrant-colored lace from the Spring 2010 collection caught our eye - our favorite colors being the purple, orange and green. The rest of the runway pieces can be seen here, though the images that we posted are pretty much the best of the bunch.
Now that we think of it, these pieces remind us of Deborah Marquit lingerie...the lace, the neon bright colors. Deborah Marquit is the go-to brand for upscale neon lingerie, with pieces handmade in her NYC studio. You can see one of her signature sets below (paired with a Victor & Rolf top). This post has us wanting one of her fluorescent pink sets...that would be amazing with a fluorescent pink pair of Christian Louboutins we've been wanting!
We love the lingerie-as-outerwear trend we're seeing these days, and we were especially drawn to the details of John Paul Gaultier's Spring 2010 collection. As you can see, Gaultier was responsible for the Madonna cone bra that was inescapable in the 90s. Somehow now that we see it in a runway setting it looks more sophisticated and high-fashion. The sheer blouse layered over the statement bra is definitely a look that can be pulled off in 'real life'. For more of the runway show, click here.
Aren't these images from the Spring 2010 Dolce & Gabbana runway show fabulous! The show certainly made a statement with the bodysuit...a look we typically cringe with memories of our look from the 90's. Nonetheless, the look works well here and is quite sexy. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that it's worn by itself with a cinched waist and high heels. We don't think we will exactly be wearing this look for Spring, but it certainly works for a statement on the runway or red carpet. Plus, even if we don't see this look in our everyday street style, it's certainly showing up in the high fashion editorials.
Stay tuned for a fun announcement we're making...one of our surprises in 2010!
A film noir-inspired runway is such a clever idea, and naturally suggests a collection of glamorous pieces! Christian Dior, through the direction of John Galliano, presented the Spring/Summer 2010 collection in Paris last week.
The images in this post are from the Andres Sarda Fall 2009 runway show in Madrid. This Spanish lingerie brand typically puts on a gorgeous show at least once a year...if only every lingerie brand did this!! We selected some of our favorite images from the runway. If you would like to purchase some Andres Sarda on sale at Faire Frou Frou, click here!

Last year we posted on the lingerie-inspired S/S09 collection of Jasper Conran, and his Fall 2009 collection is equally noteworthy. Seriously, if we could wear his collection everyday, we would! Granted, some of his styles are a little too 'boudoir' for outerwear looks, but you get the point. We simply love how intimate apparel was so beautifully incorporated into the designs. It's also fun to see how striking a pair of stockings can make an outfit look so glamorous.

With New York Fashion Week behind us, we are excited to see who made a splash on the runway. In our opinion, and in light of this being a lingerie blog, we fell in love with the Spring/Summer 2009 collection by Jasper Conran. His pieces were showcased at his eponymous ready-to-wear show, but it was very much filled with lingerie and lingerie-inspired clothing. Wouldn't it be nice if we could dress like this in real life? Actually, a lot of Conran's designs are very ready-to-wear appropriate, and simply gorgeous. You can see the rest of his designs on his website, or shop his collections exclusively at his London flagship boutique. Below are 2 images of what we would buy if we were magically granted a gift certificate to Conran's store (in addition to every item above). We can dream!
The Frou Frou Fashionista is a Lingerie Blog dedicated to luxury lingerie & upscale underpinnings! We strive to demonstrate the high-fashion side of the lingerie industry, and show how beautiful lingerie should be perceived as an accessory much like fine handbags and shoes!

Faire Frou Frou is pronounced 'fair fru fru'. It is derived from an antiquated French phrase meaning "show it off". We tend to hear customers call our store fairy fou frou, fairy frou frou, faire frow frow, frou frou lounge, etc., but now you know it's simply Faire Frou Frou! We are the original frou frou lingerie boutique.
We are the original Studio City lingerie boutique, and the #1 destination for luxury lingerie in Los Angeles!
