Carine Gilson - Luxury Lingerie Fall/Winter 2013

How could we possibly overlook our favorite pastime on our blog, which is featuring the latest designs from Carine Gilson.  Each season we think Carine's work is the height of luxurious perfection, and then another group comes along and 'wows' us.  The Fall/Winter 2013 collection has a definite Japanese influence, or at least that's what we're seeing.  Granted, Carine Gilson has consistently featured decadent kimono in every season, but the structure and simplicity of this season has a more precise Asian flair.  

Looking through these images makes us feel pretty lucky that we kept a few Carine Gilson pieces for ourselves when we used to carry the brand at our boutique.  The quality and beauty is just as swoon-worthy as ever, and just as much of a splurge.  Is there any pricey piece of lingerie you own that you just had to have?  We'd love to hear!

Carine Gilson - Lingerie Couture - Summer 2012

Forget about waiting until June, Summer is officially here now that the new Summer 2012 collection from Carine Gilson has launched!  It is a Frou Frou Fashionista tradition to feature the latest work of our favorite luxury lingerie designer, Carine Gilson.  It gives us great pleasure to discover her latest treasures, and it's always exciting to see the new colors and shapes being used.  The above images are some of our favorite pieces from the current season.  We have to admit that we wish there was more of the lingerie-as-outerwear selection that we saw in Fall/Winter '11, but otherwise the designs we see here are flawless (as usual).  We leave you now to scroll back up through this post and make a mental wishlist of bras/panties/loungewear that you are coveting.

Welcome Spring!

What better way to kick off the new season with these gorgeous pieces from the new Carine Gilson collection! The second we saw this collection we knew we had to share with you. Truly, does it get any better than this?
For those of you new to our blog, Carine Gilson lingerie is handmade with precision and perhaps the finest craftsmanship one can find in lingerie (sharing the couture spotlight with fine labels such as Damaris, Strumpet & Pink, Guia la Bruna, etc).

Hopeless Lingerie

Thanks to From Betsy With Love, we discovered a handmade lingerie label called Hopeless. This lovely little line, currently sold on Etsy, is high style and beautifully made. This couture label (truly couture since it is made just for you!) is owned by two sisters in Melbourne, Australia. They designed pieces intended to evoke a dream world, and draw inspiration from "Alice in Wonderland" and "Breakfast at Tiffanys" for their different items. We particularly love the "Alice" inspired pieces - we can see the influence!
Because each piece is custom made, you can request different colors or slight variations in the style.

Strumpet & Pink - on its way to Faire Frou Frou!!

We discovered (and fell in love with) Strumpet & Pink 5-years ago when we were first researching brands that would be stocked at Faire Frou Frou. We have loved this brand for a long time, and we are incredibly excited to share the news that a new Strumpet & Pink collection is on its way to our store (and our online store too!).
If you are not familiar with this line, Strumpet & Pink is a whimsical British label created by Lisa Morgan and Melanie Probert. They specialize in hand-made knickers that are decadent, ornate and certainly created for a special occasion. Their creations are so high-fashion and gorgeous, you almost want to own them purely as a display item!
Each panty has a unique name and design, and included are a few images of our favorite pieces! We gave the designers free reign to create special items for Faire Frou Frou, so we will keep you posted when the new collection arrives in a few weeks!
In the meantime, if you see any pieces that you wish to special order, we can certainly facilitate that for you. You can pretty much do any style in any color, just ask!
