Baring It All... In Front of a Camera?

In honor of Faire Frou Frou's new sister company bŏu dōir we want to talk about Boudoir Photo Shoots! Whether it's something special for your trousseau, an anniversary gift, or something fun just because, a boudoir photo shoot will always leave you feeling sexy and empowered. I'm sure many of you are thinking, "I could never do that" and that is just not true. Boudoir photography is a way to capture yourself in time whether you're 25 or 90 and make you feel youthful and sexy. As for your "problem areas" the photographers always know the best angles to make you look absolutely irresistible. With so many routes to go it can be hard to choose a theme for your photo shoot. Should it be colorful and fun? Classic in black and white? The decisions really are endless. My personal style favorites include, big sexy hair, some killer heels, dramatic lashes and a lot of lace. I also love when women include personal items such as  their mans button down or tie. Maybe even his favorite team's jersey. The most important thing about doing a boudoir photo shoot is making it personal and just having fun with it! Plus who doesn't love playing dress up?!

Intimates Sessions with Feather Love Photography

There is boudoir photography, and then there's the modern offshoot of it that Feather Love Photography has aptly named Intimates Sesssions.  It's for the gal who wants a sexy portrait, and preferably in lingerie, but doesn't necessarily want to pose with a long-stemmed red rose, thigh high stockings and a strand of pearls (not that there's anything wrong with that).  As you can see from these photos of Rue Magazine co-founder Anne Sage, her photos (as shot by Noa Azoulay-Sclater of Feather Love) are earthy, playful, relaxed and quite frankly a new take on the concept of the boudoir photo.  As described by Anne Sage, "it is an artistic and editorial evolution of the traditional boudoir shoot, it's an experience that is at once reflective and introspective, yet at the same time empowering, invigorating, and a hell of a lot of fun." Of course it doesn't hurt that Anne is modeling perhaps the perfect lingerie for such a shoot, which was designed by Teo Griscom of NYC undergarment label Unforeseen Circumstances.

Our lovely friend Stacie Frazier from Haute Shots Boudoir Photography recently interviewed us (actually, just Alison) as the first guest on the What's Sexy Now series on her blog. Upon doing the interview we thought it was the perfect opportunity to feature her boudoir photography on our site.

Transition Photography

Elizabeth Messina; Lingerie & Beautiful Photography

We have been fans of Elizabeth Messina's photography for a few years, and we are so pleased to be able to share her work with you! Elizabeth's work ranges from editorial to personal, but she is particularly known for her wedding photography. You've pretty much have seen her work at one point or another if you read magazines such as Oprah, Martha Stewart, Town & Country, InStyle, etc.
