Pandora Lace by Eres

We did a bit of shopping in Beverly Hills the other day and naturally stopped in the Eres boutique for a quick peek.  It was then that we learned of the new 'Pandora Lace' range that recently launched.  This collection is being specially promoted by Eres because it features their new graphic Leavers lace with pieces trimmed in Puy lace.  Puy lace just happens to be made in one of the oldest lace centers in France dating back to the 1500s!  If you ever wonder why some Eres products a high-priced, using fine textiles is part of the explanation.  The Pandora Lace collection definitely has the signature Eres look and offers a fresh new selection for their customers who are looking for something different.  Our personal favorite is the bodysuit, though that deep-V bra is certainly beckoning us as well!  We love that Eres is delightfully pretty without losing its practicality.

The Year of the Eye Mask

Based on the frequency of eye mask sales at Faire Frou Frou, we are declaring 2010-2011 The Year of the Eye Mask!  Not only that, but we have seen an abundance of editorials featuring this cheeky little accessory.  The must-have mask at our shop is a tie between the velvet Masquerade Mask and the Lace Blindfold both by Maison Close.  Though the lace blindfold is technically not a mask, it pretty much serves the same purpose so we're lumping it in the same category.  They are both the perfect item to round out a sexy little ensemble.  It's fun to see an item hit such a high level of popularity, and we enjoy seeing our customers explore such fun options.

It's so much fun to do a post where it's almost impossible to determine which picture is our favorite!  The polka dot romper, the sheer blouse over the black bra, the lace-covered high heels...even the turquoise background is striking.   German photographer Tina Luther is the talent behind this striking assortment of images.  The layers, the colors, the textures, the accessories; there's so much to making such beautiful shots.

Dreamy Days in Lingerie

These pictures (by Rickard Sund) remind us that sometimes you just need to wear pretty lingerie just for yourself.  Lingerie doesn't need to be complicated or racy, sometimes it's just meant to be sweet and comfortable.  This is the perfect way to kick off the weekend, and hopefully you will take a cue from this model with sexy bedhead and do a little relaxing in your intimates (though it's cold here so we will be doing it with a pretty robe)!

Clothing Artist Rachel Freire

When we see a collection like this, it reminds us of where clothing design meets art.   Appropriately so, the designer behind these pieces, Rachel Freire, prefers to be considered an "artist in wolf's clothing" rather than a fashion designer.  Of course you know why we wanted to feature her on our site; those garter belts and corset details were not something we were just going to keep to ourselves!  Seeing collections like this are kind of how we view "lingerie of the future" with the latex, muted color palette, massive shoulder pads and fantasy-inspired detailing.  In actuality, these items are from the designer's AW10 season, and you can see the new SS11 lookbook by clicking here.

Les Jupons De Tess

We are very excited to share news that Faire Frou Frou now carries the French lingerie label Les Jupons de Tess.  This label, though relatively unknown in the U.S. market, has been around for a few years.  We first discovered the brand during our travels to NYC back in early 2009 where we met the designer Caroline and fell in love with a chemise that she designed that reminded us of the look & quality of a Carine Gilson piece.  We took a picture of that chemise and have been saving it on our iPhone ever since (will post to Twitter later today)!  We finally took a cue from ourselves this past December and decided to carry this lovely brand in our shop. 
The first collection to come into our shop is fittingly called Paris from the Winter 2011 season.  It features gorgeous Leavers lace combined with satin accents. You can shop the collection here.

Cool Blue Inspiration

We're certainly not in a blue mood, but rather we are feeling inspired by the color blue today!  It was actually the Aitken Jolly photograph at the top of this post that inspired us; and let's just pause to say how adorable the ruffle, puff-sleeve top is layered over that darling lace bra.  Really, it's a lingerie-as-outerwear look that is most practical for 'real life'.  The lace of the model's bra reminded us a bit of the Damaris 'Frisson' collection, which we color-adjusted a sample of lace to match the theme of our post. 
We want to note that the Dita von Teese image is a (blurry) frame we captured from her very impressive video advertisement with Perrier.  If you haven't seen The Perrier Mansion website, you need to go there immediately!
