How could we resist sharing such an adorable pin-up story!  In what is reminiscent of a Chantal Thomass lingerie campaign, photographer Marc Philbert has created an editorial filled with retro-inspired sweetness with a touch of suggestive bad girl behavior (in true pin-up form).   

We love that each image shares the lingerie/clothing credits...far too often we don't get enough information!  We've identified some of our favorite brands such as Fifi Chachnil, Wolford, Chantal Thomass, Princesse Tam-Tam, Gerbe & Eres (plus many more).

We are happy to share that all of our Fall 2011 New Arrivals from Fifi Chachnil are now available on our website!  Fifi Chachnil is one of the first brands we carried at Faire Frou Frou, and nearly 7 years later the brand is still going strong in our boutique probably because it so perfectly captures our frou-frou essence!  The first image shows a little French lesson we put together, sharing the essential lingerie terms every fashionista should know.  It also displays styles that we have at our shop, which cover the fundamentals of every lingerie wardrobe: lace, silk and ruffles!
You can see some of our favorite pieces from the Fall collection, some of which are not shown in this post, on our website by clicking here.  Also, you will find one of our favorite pieces, which is the panty below (Le Desir Ruffle Brief), on our website.  We found this photo by Pierre Dal Corso online last year and were so happy to learn that those darling black panties were by Fifi!  We were even happier to learn that Fifi Chachnil included that style panty in her Fall collection...and of course we now have it at our boutique!

Fifi Chachnil - Dress Up in Ruffles & Lace!

Today we are photographing the new arrivals from Fifi Chachnil for our website, and of course had to give a teensy sneak peek here!  There's ruffles, there's lace, there's polka dots, there's retro-inspired designs...pretty much your fantasy lingerie wardrobe all in one shipment.  The new goodies will be posted in the next 1-2 days!

Mademoiselle Fifi; The Fifi Chachnil CD!

We love that not only can you wear Fifi Chachnil, you can listen to her too!  Our friend and the quintessential French lingerie designer Fifi Chachnil recently released a mini CD filled with bubbly, lighthearted French tunes.  We have this delightful little album and today marks the debut of it playing at Faire Frou Frou's Studio City boutique!  The songs are a perfect match for the Fifi fan in that they should be playing while wearing her lingerie, sipping champagne and eating colorful macarons.  Fifi is no stranger to the music industry, having recorded her first album back in 1984. 
You can purchase the CD or download the music off of iTunes (we suggest that, particularly since you can preview the songs).

Last year we did a post on pin-up photographer Carlo Pieroni, and we recently discovered that he added a few new images to his portfolio! His work really does capture the essence of the vintage pin-up from the fresh-faced leggy models to the campy illustrated backdrops.
The lingerie in each shot is so adorable, and one of the images actually features an entire Fifi Chachnil set sold at Faire Frou Frou. We have the lingerie, all we need is Carlo to come over with his camera! Wouldn't it be fun to splurge and have someone capture you in a photograph looking this amazing?

Frou Frou Tidbits

above: the "before" shot. An interior view of our devastated boutique...but good news is on the way! We are in the process of hiring a contractor to work his magic! Say goodbye to the ugly...

We have been spending so much time at Faire Frou Frou boutique this week, that we wanted to share the latest news with our readers/customers. We have made no secret of the fact that we have been fighting our insurance company over getting a fair settlement
on the water damage in our boutique. We had no idea how shady the insurance industry was until this...but it has been an education.
Nonetheless, we are now finally able to move forward and rebuild our beautiful boutique! We have been meeting with contractors/painters/electricians and so forth this past week, and we're closing in on accepting a bid. Probably the work will begin in about a week...very exciting! We can't wait to post the 'after' pictures of Faire Frou Frou! Stay tuned as we update you on our progress (new awning, new exterior garden, new paint, new lighting, and so forth).
We also wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your tremendous support. The phone calls, voicemails, emails, online purchases, blog comments, Twitter comments, you name it...each and every one amazing. xoxo
