Lingerie is so playful and fun, at least that's our opinion of what it can and should be.  That's probably why we enjoy Ellen von Unwerth's photography so much; she captures the frivolity and sensuality that frolicking about in your undies can create!  Feather fans, riding crops, eye masks and top hats...all in good fun. 

We're kind of inspired to host a lingerie party like the one shown above!  We wonder if any of you have done the same...

These images are from a couple of years ago, but the great thing about lingerie is that it doesn't date itself as quickly as other types of clothing.  For the umpteenth time we are featuring the photography of Ellen von Unwerth who is so amazing about including lingerie in most of her work.  Cheeky, flirty, sexy and fun best describe these images of actress Rose McGowan.  Just looking at them makes us wish that real life looked like an Ellen von Unwerth picture!  At least a bit of lingerie from Faire Frou Frou can make that happen!

Whenever we discover new work by photographer Ellen von Unwerth, it's pretty much required posting on this blog. These pictures from the July 2010 issue of Vogue Italy have the 'wow factor' we're accustomed to with von Unwerth's images and certainly some pretty Italian intimates. Naturally we see a lot of Dolce & Gabbana lingerie here, and also spotted a pair of undies by UK favorite What Katie Did. Of course the teased hair, the big pouty lips and the dramatic 60's-inspired eyeliner are the perfect way to set the stage for these sexy photographs. Makes us wish we could pull off this look in real life...we'd certainly get a lot of cat calls!

Leave it to Ellen von Unwerth to feature lingerie in a playful yet risque way for VS Magazine. In her signature style, von Unwerth creates a Naughty Fairytale featuring coquettish girls having fun in very suggestive intimates. You can see the entire uncensored spread in the most recent issue of VS Magazine (we had to do a bit of light censoring as you can see).
We love that the models are wearing Bordelle, a UK lingerie brand coming to Faire Frou Frou this Fall! We're surprised there's no Fifi Chachnil in any of the shots...that's usually a von Unwerth staple.

Sexy panties, sheer gowns and feathers set the stage for a cheeky editorial featuring one of our favorite models. Now these are the type of pregnancy pictures women should take!
For all of the Claudia Schiffer fans out there, the June 2010 issue of Vogue Germany is a must-buy. It features several editorials showcasing Claudia in a variety of looks/styles by artists such as Karl Lagerfeld, Camilla Akrans, Jan Welters, and of course Ellen von Unwerth. Dita von Teese strikes a pose in yet another unforgettable spread by Ellen von Unwerth, this time for the 25th Anniversary issue of Max Italy magazine (March 2010). We love that these pictures combine our two favorite topics, Dita and amazing lingerie by favorites such as Fifi Chachnil, Cadolle and Cervin. We were also excited to see the Cadolle bra & panty set that we sell at Faire Frou Frou! To top it off, Ellen von Unwerth has the most amazing flair with the camera, so the pictures are filled with energy, seduction and sass.

We have noticed that quite a few of the panties in our boutique make quite a presentation from the back - don't you agree? From bows and ruffles to fun embroidery, there are such adorable options right now. Granted, most of these are 'special occasion' pieces - so you're not supposed to wonder if these will work under a pair of jeans. These are strictly for flaunting!

Fifi Flowers for Faire Frou Frou (Tongue Twister!)

We were so delighted that Fifi Flowers, daily whimsical painter extraordinaire, created yet another painting as inspired by our blog/boutique. The second image was inspired by the Ellen von Unwerth photograph that's posted on our blog of a model wearing Chantal Thomass lingerie. Certainly we can understand her being inspired by that adorable image! We also spotted another image based on a photo on our blog (or a lot of people's blogs for that matter!), which is the Kristen Dunst as Marie Antoinette. It doesn't get any more 'fifi' than that!
About a year ago, Fifi Flowers created another painting, inspired by our boutique's front window display (also shown above). What an honor!

More Ellen Von Unwerth Goodness

We're not sure whose lingerie this is...it kind of looks like Victoria's Secret upon close inspection. The robe looks adorable, though we have no idea who designed it! The gathered sleeves really make the robe, and the vintage rose print is incredibly fresh.

The slip above looks very much like Araks...we have a navy blue bralette that has the same cotton/silk combination, so that's our best guess!

We took an unexpected mini vacation from blogging these past few days, but we're back! We've been getting ready to launch our Fall collections, and have been preparing for some renovations at our boutique.

We found some new Ellen Von Unwerth photos of Beyonce, and of course there's a coquettish display of cute lingerie. Naturally we had to share!
