We love that we have an opportunity to capture so many of the things that inspire us.  Over the past two weeks (or so) here is what's new and fabulous at Faire Frou Frou.  There's a lot of the Damaris Spring 2013 collection in there because it just looks so amazing...the purple and the bright orange/pink are definite eye-candy!  There's also the bright orange Marlies Dekkers Society bra that is stunning on every person who has tried it on.  Of course we had to share some of our garden rose photos because our backyard is filled with blooms of every color right now!

Damaris - Spring 2013 Colorfest!

Damaris packs a punch with bright colors and spectacular designs in her SS2013 collection.  Each group, named for a Greek god/goddess, is filled with customary over-the-top details that are customary for Damaris creations.  A common thread seen in most groups is the use of fine silk tulle and beautiful French lace.  Once again we see the return of the deep V-Plunge Bra, which has become a customer favorite (great for when you're wearing a low, plunging neckline!).  Naturally we also see the return of the signature back cut-out panties as well as the cut-out back-tie panties.  Almost every piece has a gold horseshoe clasp fastener.  If you haven't had the pleasure of seeing in person or owning a Damaris design, you're missing out.  It's a true luxury (handmade in a London atelier) that's sure to make you (and a lucky someone else) smile.

Scallop Lace - Fall Lingerie Trend

A lovely little trend we've spotted this season at Faire Frou Frou is the use of scallop lace.  Lingerie brands Lascivious and Mimi Holliday have struck a chord with our customers, because these pieces have been selling out fast! We knew we liked scallop lace, but we were pleasantly surprised to see how much you liked it too!
It has a bit of an Art Deco feel to it, and is a slight departure from the lace trims we so commonly see on most of our lingerie.  The scallop lace is a fresh approach to classic styling.  Don't you agree?  Aren't you craving this for yourself?!

Mimi Holliday - Spring 2011

We're hard-pressed to find a customer who doesn't like or wear Mimi Holliday.  The designs are adorable and the prices are just right (for a luxury boutique label). We introduced the Spring 2011 collection into our shop two weeks ago, and it's been selling quickly...we're not sure this collection will make it to Summer at Faire Frou Frou!  In any event, the new season brings out the usual Mimi Holliday playfulness and some fun color choices.  We absolutely love the new Pompier group (shown at the top) that was created in a deep indigo (purple).  It's an unexpected color choice for a Spring collection, and it works!  Our next favorite is the Frou Frou group in a delightful lilac...yes, it's our namesake collection.  We kind of wonder if we were in mind when Damaris designed it!

We have finally posted all of the new arrivals from Mimi Holliday on our website! If you don't know about this brand, it's time you learn...Mimi Holliday is the spin-off diffusion line of the luxury lingerie label Damaris. Basically it's designed by the same talent behind Damaris but at a fraction of the price. Bras and panties range in price from $50-$89, and now the brand offers new styles such as garter belts and teddys/rompers! Perhaps after seeing the images from the Spring 2010 collection (above) you get an idea of why this is one of the most popular brands in our store!
Some of the new lingerie collections that we have on our site are Allure, Ooh La La, Adorable, Bisou Bisou Noir, Privee & Encore L'Amour.

Mimi Holliday - New Fall 2009 Collection

New Arrivals at Faire Frou Frou!

Not only did we receive the beautiful new Fall collection from Mimi Holliday, but we also have some wonderful fashion shots to go along with this post! Mimi Holliday didn't just do any fashion spread, they collaborated with the wonderfully talented photographer Sandra Freij (whose work we've posted before!). It's not everyday a lingerie designer will create a high-fashion shoot and then separately photograph the collection as it looks to the average spectator. Therefore, in this post you will see the fashion images, but if you visit our online store, you will see the catalog images (where you see the product much more clearly). Way to go Mimi Holliday!
One big change came along with the Fall 2009 collection, and that was a significant drop in prices! Yes, most pieces are about 25-30% less than they were last season. Keep in mind, however, that this price reduction is for the Fall/Winter season only, and prices will return to their pre-Recession amounts in Spring 2010.

Girly Swimwear

New arrivals include the adorable polka dot bikini set by Mimi Holliday. Everyone who walks in the store goes straight to this set!

We are certainly seeing a retro trend this year with swimwear. New styles from Fleur T.

We are definitely on a swimwear kick this week, and what better way to finish than with 2 of our favorite British brands; Fleur T and Mimi Holliday.
We just added the new arrivals from both brands to our website, and couldn't wait to share! For us, this season is all about the little polka dot bikini, and rightly so! You need to see these pieces in person, because the photos don't seem to capture their cuteness. The navy blue & white polka dot set has the adorable high-waisted bikini bottom...and the little ruffle trim in the back adds just the right touch.
As for the Mimi Holliday peach polka dot set, the rivets with the ribbon ties are just the right accent to make this a must-have item.

Retro Swimwear from Norma Kamali

Ahh, we're loving the high-waisted bikini bottoms - such a big trend in lingerie and swim this season! We discovered the new Norma Kamali swimwear collection thanks to the beautiful Captivate Me blog...don't you just love it?!? The designs are inspiring and lovely, and filled with 1940s glamour. In general we enjoy swimwear much more than we enjoy actually swimming - anyone agree with us on this?
We will be posting more swimwear this week since we have new swim arrivals from Fleur T and Mimi Holliday.
