We are so excited to announce the imminent arrival of the Slinkies collection from Made by Niki. This new everyday wear is functional while still remaining fabulous; pretty much what the brand is known for. This smooth and seamless collection of intimates is perfect under all of your clothing, but oh-so-sexy on its own! We've never seen functional lingerie look so good (unless you look at the Classics from Made by Niki, which are also pretty fab). The Slinkies pieces are "grippy on the inside, slippy on the outside" and they are made from anti-bacterial control fabric "with moisture wicking which keeps you fresh, cool and dry".
We've seen these pieces in person, and in action as modeled by the brand's designer Niki McMorrough, and they look great. She wore the Control Leggings with the Control Mini Dress for the day, and we were completely envious...she looked that good!
With shapewear this sexy, perhaps it's time to retire your Spanx...

Romantic photography, bits of lingerie, semi-provocative pictures all make for a new interpretation of the 'boudoir' shoot. From Marie Claire Italy, model Sophie Vlaming models lingerie from Rosamosario, La Perla and Eres in a series of gauzy, dreamy images. One of our favorite pictures in this post is the first, with the bra blatantly being displayed with the dress. Now that's a look we are seeing a bit more of these days...how soon before you and I are doing that?

The french maid theme never gets old...at least when it's done in a high-fashion setting as Vogue Russia did for its January 2010 issue. We love that some of our favorite brands are featured in this shoot: Wolford, Myla & Agent Provocateur (plus shoes by Sergio Rossi, fyi).
The irony is that the model looks too skinny to be eating the food that she's preparing, but then again this is fantasy. If anything, we hope these pictures inspire you to create your own french maid fantasy at home!

John Paul Gaultier Runway

We love the lingerie-as-outerwear trend we're seeing these days, and we were especially drawn to the details of John Paul Gaultier's Spring 2010 collection. As you can see, Gaultier was responsible for the Madonna cone bra that was inescapable in the 90s. Somehow now that we see it in a runway setting it looks more sophisticated and high-fashion. The sheer blouse layered over the statement bra is definitely a look that can be pulled off in 'real life'.

Frou Frou Tidbits

We have been spending so much time at Faire Frou Frou boutique this week, that we wanted to share the latest news with our readers/customers. We have made no secret of the fact that we have been fighting our insurance company over getting a fair settlement
on the water damage in our boutique. We had no idea how shady the insurance industry was until this...but it has been an education.
Nonetheless, we are now finally able to move forward and rebuild our beautiful boutique! We have been meeting with contractors/painters/electricians and so forth this past week, and we're closing in on accepting a bid. Probably the work will begin in about a week...very exciting! We can't wait to post the 'after' pictures of Faire Frou Frou! Stay tuned as we update you on our progress (new awning, new exterior garden, new paint, new lighting, and so forth).
We also wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your tremendous support. The phone calls, voicemails, emails, online purchases, blog comments, Twitter comments, you name it...each and every one amazing. xoxo
