We Like We Love!

images via We Like We Love, photos by Colin Way, styled by Leah Van Loon

We were flipping through the latest issue of WLWL online magazine and were delightfully surprised that they featured a lingerie spread!  We haven't see too much lingerie coverage (as a full lingerie editorial) in the recent crop of new online magazines (except for Rue of course!), so that's why these images were unexpected.  Most of the lingerie is from Agent Provocateur and Elle Macpherson, but our favorite piece of all is the green stockings (stylist's own).  It just goes to show that a little pop of color goes a long way.

Maison Close at Faire Frou Frou - Spring 2011

images via Maison Close, edits to each picture by Faire Frou Frou

There's no question that Maison Close is one of the most rapid-selling brands at Faire Frou Frou, so we are so excited to now carry the Spring 2011 collection!  The latest groups to hit stores are Villa Cancan, Pavillon Bellevue and Villa Divine.  For those of you who didn't get a chance to buy their Winter collection, they are continuing to carry those groups as well.  In any event, the most surprising addition to Spring includes the new ivory modal pieces (Pavillon Bellevue).  Up until now the brand has pretty much stuck to all-black designs (with a smattering of purple in there), so the ivory items, in modal no less, are a welcome change.  And can we talk about how cool that ivory open-back boyshort is?!
Another favorite of ours is the mesh/lace Villa Divine Catsuit.  To be honest, we weren't a huge fan of the catsuit until we saw this piece.  Seriously, it's so amazing it converted us, and we bet we'll make a few catsuit lovers out of you too!  If the catsuit is not quite your thing, the Villa Divine Lace Leggings are a safe runner-up.  The third new group is called Villa Cancan, which is also black mesh but with a diamond grid pattern.  Again, some sexy sleekness going on there that we're enjoying.  Our online store features a few looks from this group that are not featured in this post, so now you need to visit our site.
We can talk on and on about the new Maison Close pieces, but nothing tells a better story than simply looking at those gorgeous pictures above.

Carine Gilson - Spring 2011 Collection

A favorite look from the new season!
This look is also our favorite

Okay, another favorite...

Favorite!  Simply apply this comment to all pictures in this post...

We hope you are excited as we are to see the new Spring 2011 Carine Gilson collection!  Just when you think you have seen her best work, she blows us away with a fresh interpretation of her luxury intimates.  For instance, this season we see the addition of new shapes such as the satin romper and jumpsuit.  There's also the new flirty silk half slips (one of which looks like it can tied so that it can be worn as a wrap around the shoulders or around the waist). We have a feeling many of you will love the 1940s-inspired emerald green robe, which is certain to help you channel your inner Rita Hayworth (or Veronica Lake, who Carine has said is an inspiration of hers)!
We have posted 20 of our favorite looks here, but you can see the entire collection (all 48 images) on Carine Gilson's website.  We recently saw a limited number of styles from this season while shopping at Barney's (the Madison Ave. location), but unfortunately didn't see any of the more interesting loungewear pieces shown here (same case on Net-a-Porter).
For any of you traveling to Abu Dhabi or Moscow in March & April, Carine is hosting a trunk show with her new goodies!  Also, for those of you who don't quite have a Carine Gilson budget (= loads of money), she does offer a diffusion label called RITUEL (which simply translates to 'ritual').  Carine has done a diffusion line in the past (we recall seeing one about 3-4 years ago in Paris) but tends to be a bit more on the down-low about those collections.  In fact, she will not let stores carry both her diffusion line and couture line at the same time so as not to confuse customers about her branding.  The RITUEL line is pretty much a collection of Carine's basics (we recently saw their Fall 2011 catalog) and may be best-suited for the person who simply wants to wear a Carine Gilson label without the usual Carine Gilson price!

A Teensy Bit of Lingerie

images via The 88, Josephine Skriver, photos by Nicky De Silva

Pretty much that first picture was so pretty, we had to do this post.  We're not sure if it's the cool velvet jacket or those beautifully simple thigh highs that make it so perfect.  At this point we're convinced that stockings (with very little pattern or lace) make every editorial a favorite.  We have a feeling we say that a lot.

Mila Kunis for W Magazine

Mila Kunis for W Magazine, photo by Craig McDean

Mila Kunis on the cover of the March 2011 issue of W Magazine is relevant to our blog for two reasons:  A gorgeous Eres bra graces the cover of the issue (yay lingerie!) and her Chanel robe/coat with the feather collar and sleeves is quite reminiscent of the famous ostrich feather burlesque robes sold on our website!   It's one of those photos you can easily recreate with a quick visit to fairefroufrou.com.  Finding lingerie on the cover of a magazine this year is much harder to find than it was one year ago, so we're tickled to see this!
