A Taste of Lace (& Feathers)

Cameron Russell by Photographer Ben Hassett, Styled by Capucine Safyurtlu for Numero Magazine (October 2010).  Images via here.

We are not sure where our love affair begins; lingerie or lace.  The lace in this editorial for Numero Magazine is absolutely lovely, and once again we see the all-lace eye-mask being used, which is so striking and seductive.  Granted, there's not much lingerie in this post with the exception of two pieces by Chantelle and Eres, but we didn't think you would mind!  We are quite taken with the photography skills of Ben Hassett and the beauty of Cameron Russell.  The ostrich feathers in the first picture are quite dramatic, and so beautiful...we don't even know if it's a top or an accessory, we just love it.  Perhaps we have ostrich feathers on our mind with the up-coming addition of an entire Burlesque Shop on our online store!  Details will indeed follow about that!

  2. Ahhhh, from an artistic standpoint, these images are beautiful. The use of negative space in the first is something that isn't used enough in fashion photography. From a fellow lace/lingerie-lover's standpoint, these are also stunning! Love your blog/shop. Thanks for sharing these!

Beautiful photography! That last pic reminds me of a night gowns I recently purchased. It's black lace and very form-fitting; I picked it up at a rummage sale, actually, and I think it's from the 50's. I love that old-timey glamor feel!

  12. Hello!
I'm from Portugal, and love to stop by your blog...
That is exactly my point of view: what is better, lingerie or lace?
That is why my boutique is called "Rendas e Romance" Lace and Romance, in Portuguese.
Thank you for your inspiration and good luck on your renewed boutique!!
