And God Created Woman

'And God Created Woman' is a luxury label of nightwear and bedroom accessories from the U.K., and we're proud to now carry the brand at Faire Frou Frou. Actually, we're the first store to bring the brand to the U.S.!!
This gorgeous label specializes in chic and flattering kimono robes. For those of you who like to lounge in sophistication, this label is for you...for instance, the Crepe Robe with the Satin Obi is finished with french seams, made with matte crepe on the outside and smooth satin on the inside, and has a great silk satin obi that wraps twice around the waist for a dramatic effect!
These one-size fits all robes are cinched at the waist to accentuate the feminine form. What we especially love about the kimono is that the arms are cut short enough so that you don't have your sleeve knocking things over or in the way (some long kimono sleeves are dangerous around candle flames!).

Luxury Linens to Luxury Lingerie

We have been looking for new bedding lately (for a boudoir makeover at home), and of course started the search at Frette. Frette is a company that has specialized in luxury linens since 1860. If you want the creme de la creme in bedding, this is where you begin!
Last year when visiting their website we noticed that they sell a small selection of their own lingerie label...and rightly so! The pricing is a bit steep (but who are we to judge!), but it's certainly justifiable with the quality and craftsmanship. We are loving their gorgeous cashmere cardigan...but we need to focus our attention and our budget on bedding for now!

Once again, we spotted a high-end lingerie shoot that includes pieces from Carine Gilson! It seems like she's the go-to brand for luxury editorial...and she should be!
Here's Gwyneth Paltrow in the June 2008 issue of GQ wearing a gorgeous silk chemise...you can see the beautiful craftsmanship, especially in the last picture.

We were so excited (as though we found lingerie heaven) when we found these lovely images by Blaise Lavigne for ZOOZOOM's online magazine. Each photo has lingerie from one of our favorite designers; all tastefully appointed with rich colors.
The photos & lingerie are supposed to embody the cabaret life during the Jazz Age. Here's an excerpt from the magazine that relates to many of the high-fashion pieces we have at Faire Frou Frou:

Too ostentatious for its intentions to be limited to wearing where it cannot be seen, too revealing to be functional as protection against even temperate weather, and too beautiful to place within the parameters of functionality, lingerie that embodies the subversive cabaret lifestyle survives today. And where does it live? It coyly sneaks out from beneath outerwear and dances of the stage of the imagination ( a place where style exists without the threat of extinction).

Rosamosario's designer, Carlotta Danti is in both of these pictures. Above, she's 3rd from the right standing up (wearing a sleeveless top). Below, she's in the gray t-shirt wearing some cute red shoes in the sand!

We were looking through the images of the latest W Magazine, and noticed a very cute pair of panties that reminded us of one of the brands we carry...and sure enough, several of the pieces were designed by our friend Carlotta Danti from Rosamosario! And what was even more interesting is that we saw Carlotta included in the Bruce Weber shoot alongside the likes of Kate Moss!

Rosamosario is a true couture lingerie line, in which all pieces are made-to-order. Of course, Carlotta had created some pieces for our boutique a while back, all of which were made by hand using traditional time-consuming methods!
It seems that Rosamosario is currently only made-to-order (not stocked in other boutiques)...so next time you're in Venice, pop by and see Carlotta for a beautiful lingerie creation. But if you're interested, we still have a couple of her pieces for sale at Faire Frou Frou (check them out here).

We received the latest press release from UK lingerie brand Patrick & Skinner, and wanted to share their promo shot with you! We just loved the colors, and it perfectly matches the philosophy of the company which considers lingerie a treat or indulgence, much like chocolate or sweets in a candy store. This brand realizes that there are plenty of lingerie niches out there (burlesque lingerie, naughty girl lingerie, etc.), so they created their own specialty of indulging your guilty pleasures through lingerie you can wear every day.

Javier Vallhonrat; Lingerie & Beautiful Photography

It's always a good day when we find beautiful photographs that feature lingerie. In this case, we discovered Spanish photographer Javier Vallhonrat, who worked for magazines such as Vogue (British, French & Italian versions) and other Conde Nast publications, as well as designers such as Commes des Garcons, Christian Lacroix, Chloe, Jil Sander, John Galliano and Yves Saint-Laurent during the 1980s.

In that one photo with the girl laying on the bed, it looks like the La Perla 'Tattoo' bra that we absolutely love!
