Elkin Lingerie - Begging To Be Layered

images via Elkin

We've been thinking a lot lately about new ways of incorporating lingerie into our outerwear, and felt inspired after taking another look at the Fall 2011 collection from Elkin.  The philosophy behind this new, Los Angeles-based brand is to layer pieces or to wear alone which makes the collection great for the bedroom or for when you're out & about.  We love the dual purpose designs!  There are so many pretty details just begging to be shared.  We especially love the cut-out bra shown in the first picture...it's fashion-forward and looks so comfortable too!

Glam It Up - Gerbe Paris

images via here, Chantal Thomass & Gerbe Paris

We just received our Fall shipment of Gerbe Paris hosiery!  We are so excited!  Gerbe is a luxury hosiery brand that has been made in France since 1904; we will venture to say that they really know their stuff!  This marks the addition of yet another line of luxury stockings carried at Faire Frou Frou (we currently carry Cervin, and have previously carried Falke and Wolford).
Stockings have been particularly popular at our boutique this past year, probably because more people are realizing what an amazing accessory it is.  We will unveil our full Gerbe stockings collection online in just a few days (though it's currently at our Studio City boutique)!

Inspired by Glamour

images via here, here & here

This Glenn Miller vintage sheet music artwork inspired us to create a small mood board of vintage-inspired sweeping, silk dressing gowns.  What else could be more perfect to wear for a moonlight serenade than a gorgeous Jenny Packham silk crepe wrap robe...nothing.   As we look forward to the approaching holiday months, you can look forward to more glamorous items like this at Faire Frou Frou!

Scallop Lace - Fall Lingerie Trend

A lovely little trend we've spotted this season at Faire Frou Frou is the use of scallop lace.  Lingerie brands Lascivious and Mimi Holliday have struck a chord with our customers, because these pieces have been selling out fast! We knew we liked scallop lace, but we were pleasantly surprised to see how much you liked it too!
It has a bit of an Art Deco feel to it, and is a slight departure from the lace trims we so commonly see on most of our lingerie.  The scallop lace is a fresh approach to classic styling.  Don't you agree?  Aren't you craving this for yourself?!

In an ARI DEIN State of Mind...

Manhattan lingerie brand ARI DEIN has unveiled its Fall 2011 collection and once again we are swept into the decadent luxuries of yesteryear.  Of course this is the intent of designer Arielle Shapiro, who each season takes her inspiration from architecture, deco interiors and antiques and interprets it in silks, crepe de chine, ruffles and lace.  This season introduces new variations on some of her best-selling groups (the Boutique Hotel style is a longtime favorite of ours), and also includes hand-painted silk and an oyster-print group with a pattern specially made by the designer!
It should be noted that Arielle Shapiro was recently accepted into the prestigious CFDA Incubator program.  She was selected along with 9 other designers to be part of this exclusive mentoring program with significant connections in the world of fashion.  Do we see a large Vogue feature in her future?  Yes!
You can shop the Fall 2011 collection on the ARI DEIN website, and see some of our favorites from her beautiful Summer 2011 collection on our website!
